The Good List

In looking for what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable, and excellent, and worthy of praise, here is what I have found:

  • His homily about healing
  • Tires that can drive in the snow
  • My saint of the year
  • Her bringing me a cinnamon crunch bagel
  • A call even though it could have been a text
  • Him clamoring for more of these lists
  • An iced mint coffee
  • Life updates over lunch
  • The ongoing bit about bear danger
  • The toddler sleeping on his shoulder
  • Unknowingly going to the same mass
  • The pink and teal sky
  • A bengals win
  • A doubles win
  • Her saying, “you’re not nice with your tennis but you’re a very kind human” as I scraped off her car after our match
  • The videos of their kids spinning
  • The baby with the red button nose
  • Watercolors
  • The Detroit lions
  • Duolingo
  • Her excitement about me reading this book
  • Snow angels
  • Coworking at the kitchen table
  • A homemade sled
  • The neighbors shoveling her driveway
  • The women doing tai chi

Want to create a list of your own? It’s all about noticing. I generally look for the ways I feel loved by God and others, the moments of human connection happening around me, and little things that make me smile.

If you create a list, I’d love to read it. If you have my number, you can text it to me. If you don’t, send it on over to abigailbressoud@gmail.com
